Children Again

Some grizzled man
Who once was four
Holds a tiny grandson hand
By a pebbled sunny shore
Teaching the thrill of throwing stones
Safe, exuberant, secure
While wind tears hair
From the back of waves
Trying to Canute the fall
Before ebbing away for more.
